Cleveland Police say public safety is main concern

Assistant chief constable of Cleveland Police Jason Harwin tweeted to say he had met with his boss for initial talks over the televised clash tomorrow night.

Talks are also planned for this afternoon to discuss whether it is safe for the match to go ahead after a week of arctic conditions in the North East.

Most of England is still subject to an amber warning from the Met Office, which is for heavy snow, and it's expected to remain this way until at least 10am tomorrow.

Middlesbrough manager Tony Pulis has praised the club's staff for the clear up operation at the Riverside and Rockliffe.

Tony Pulis has said "hopefully the game goes ahead" with less than 24 hours before a decision will be made.
