No one can deny that Sunderland have not had the most successful season after their relegation to the Premier League and needed someone to replace top goal-scorer Lewis Grabban if they have any chance of survival.

Mackem’s will be hoping that the key to staying up is within forward Kazenga Lualua who moved on a free transfer from Brighton and Hove Albion.

Recently Lualua spoke with representatives of Sunderland’s website on how he thought his start to playing for Sunderland had gone:

“I’ve settled in nicely and all the boys have made me feel welcome. It’s a nice place and the people are good, so it’s going well and I’m enjoying it.”

Sunderland find themselves 23rd in the Championship with only 1 win in 5 league games, only managing to keep away from bottom place on goal difference.

They lost at the weekend to a strong Brentford side but many fans are pleased with how they fared the week before, coming from 3-0 down to achieve a 3-3 draw away at play-off hopefuls Bristol City.

When asked about this result Lualua had this to say: “we came from 3-0 down to draw 3-3 which was a great feeling.

It’s not easy for us and the fans when you’re down like that, especially when they’ve travelled a long way to watch us.

It’s good to get game time and I was pleased to play a part in helping the lads come back, and I’m feeling fit.”
