Brackley Town vs Darlington Preview
Darlington travel to Brackley Town on Saturday in a fine run of form, unbeaten in five winning three games on the spin, their longest run of the season.
Last weekend, Darlo beat play-off chasing Bradford Park Avenue on the road and they kept a clean sheet in the process. It was their second clean sheet in succession and defender Josh Heaton was pleased:
“It was a great win (against BPA) it was good to keep two clean sheets on the bounce and it was good to see everyone defending well as a team.”
Assistant manager Alan White says they aren’t getting carried away despite the positive run of form:
“We’re just taking every game as it comes, one at a time. We are not going to get carried away, we are not safe, we need at least three or four wins minimum.”
Third placed Brackley Town are in impressive form themselves.
They have won six out of their last nine matches and they will be aiming to take points from Darlington as they hope to gain ground on league leaders Salford City.
They come into Saturday’s game following a 3-0 home win over North Ferriby and they will be confident of a repeat against Darlington as they haven’t lost a home game since March of 2017, a staggering run.
It will be a challenging task for Darlo and I am expecting them to leave Brackley point-less. I would be happy to be proved wrong, but I am predicting a 2-1 win for the home side.
