Traore can go to the top under Pulis
After scoring his first goal since joining Middlesbrough back in 2016, Adama Traore put in another man of the match performance since Tony Pulis took charge just under a month ago.
Since taking charge of Middlesbrough, Traore has featured in every game under Pulis and has started in five of the six games the Welshmen has been in charge of.
After the 3-0 win against QPR at the weekend, Pulis backed Traore to go to the top saying:
“He can be frustrating at times, but I’m telling you, if he works it out then he could be anything.
““You look at the top clubs in the Premier League and they’ve all got that electric pace and no one’s as quick as this boy is.
“He’s starting to work it out a bit now and, hopefully, the penny drops. All we’re asking him to do is what he’s good at, which is to run forward with the ball – and run forward without the ball.
“When he does that, as you saw, he’s unplayable.”
So far this season Traore has five assists and now one goal in his eleven starts in all competitions, before Pulis had taken charge, however Traore had just started six games all season.
But with a consistent run in the team Traore is starting to unlock the potential all Boro fans know he has.
Under Pulis Traore seems to have added a better final ball to his game as well as a footballing brain.
Traore has improved massively in just a short space of time and seems to know when to pass and when to dribble with the ball, he’s still a long way off being the perfect winger but if Pulis can get him playing this well after just one month then it’s scary to think about how good he’ll be after a full season.
